Support service for independent people

CHAP's home support service enables people who are experiencing difficulties in managing their tenancy to receive individual support on a one to one basis in their own homes.

What support is available?

Advice on the safe use of household equipment, kitchen hygiene and food storage.

Assistance to arrange appointments, complete forms, arrange repairs or adaptations and manage personal budgets or debts.

Support to pay accounts, go on shopping trips, attend interiews, address tenancy issues and undertake resettlement activities.

Who may benefit from this service?

Individuals who are having difficulties dealing with housing benefit, council tax forms, etc...

Individuals who are experiencing problems with rent arrears or facing eviction.

Individuals who require support with personal budgeting or debt management.

Who can CHAP help?

At the present time the service is available to anyone who lives in North Ayrshire, receiving Housing Benefit and experiencing difficulties managing their tenancy. However, if you feel you, or someone you know, would benefit from the support, please contact the office to discuss whether or not you/they would be eligible.
