Housing Support Service
CHAP has developed a new service which enables people who are experiencing difficulties in managing their tenancy to receive individual support on a one to one basis, in their own homes.
Assistance is available to set up tenancies, contact gas or electricity suppliers, arrange appointments, complete forms, arrange repairs or adaptations and to manage personal budgets or debt. Advice is available on the safe use of household equipment, kitchen hygiene and food storage. Support is available to pay accounts, go on shopping trips, attend interviews, address tenancy issues and undertake resettlement activities.
CHAP strives to provide a service which meets the needs of individual service users by providing a consistent approach to delivery. All service users have the opportunity to discuss their housing support needs with a dedicated member of staff before the service commences. A support plan will be prepared and this plan will be reviewed every three months.
