Adult Disability Payment: North Ayrshire residents can now apply
Social Security Scotland have now begun the roll-out of the new benefits system. As part of this, residents in North Ayrshire can now apply for Adult Disability Payment, which has replaced Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
Adult Disability Payment is made up of two parts: daily living, and mobility. Each part has its own standard and enhanced rates of entitlement.
Daily Living
Standard award - £61.85 per week
Enhanced award - £92.40 per week
Mobility
Standard award - £24.45 per week
Enhanced award - £64.50 per week
You can apply for Adult Disability Payment if you are over 16 years old, and have not yet reached state pension age, and if you have either a disability or long-term physical or mental health condition, or a terminal illness.
If you are already in receipt of a PIP award, Social Security Scotland will automatically move you over to the Adult Disability Payment; you do not need to apply.
You can apply for this new benefit online, or you can call 0800 182 2222 (8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday) to request an application pack. For more information and to apply online, you can visit https://www.mygov.scot/adult-disability-payment
