Signal for Help
The Signal for Help was introduced in Canada by the Canadian Women’s Foundation in April 2020 and has since seen international interest. It is hoped this will be used by those facing domestic violence or similar abuse who cannot “call out” for aid. While introduced as a tool that can be used in video calls, it can also be used in other circumstances.
It is designed as a subtle yet deliberate gesture that can be performed in one fluid motion.

Provides confidential information and support to anyone affected by forced marriage or domestic abuse.

Provides information and support for victims and witnesses of crime.
