Benefit news
The Department for Work and Pensions will not be renewing their contract with Post Office. This means that from November 2021, benefit payments will no longer be paid into Post Office Card Accounts. The DWP should write to all applicants ahead of this change to inform you of your options, but applicants are advised to take action as soon as possible to avoid any delays in their payments.
The £20 per week uplift on Universal Credit claims, put in place during the pandemic by DWP, is scheduled to end from September 2021, though depending on payment cycles some applicants won’t see the reduction until October 2021.
And a reminder for anyone with school aged children that applications are open through the North Ayrshire Council website for Education Grants, to provide financial assistance with clothing, footwear and free school meals. Applications can be made through the North Ayrshire Council website here.
